2NE1 is a four-member South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. The name, pronounced to anyone or twenty one, combines the phrases "21st century" and "new evolution. The band consists of CL, Minzy, Dara, and Bom.

2NE1 is 2NE1's second mini album. "UGLY", the only new song of the mini-album, was used as lead track. The songs "Lonely", "Naega Jeil Jal Naga" and "Hate You", were previously released as their 6th, 7th, and 8th Korean digital singles.
